For over 75 years, Reed Family Dentistry has provided dental care to families in Millington, Covington, and the surrounding communities of Shelby and Tipton County, but more importantly, we strive to build relationships. We work by the motto that we have never had a tooth walk in the door unattached. They are connected to living, breathing humans. So while we are a dental practice, we are in the business of treating people. Our team is like family, and we see our patients as part of it.

Dr. Kevin Reed has practiced dentistry since 1982. His son, Dr. Taylor Reed, joined in 2017 and now owns the practice. They’re the third generation of Reed dentists to look after these communities.

Our hygienists, assistants, and coordinators have more than 200 years of combined experience at this practice. Several have cared for the same families for decades. You’ll see familiar faces at your cleaning.

Dr. Kevin and Dr. Taylor have both trained at the Pankey Institute in Miami, with a focus on occlusion and TMJ therapy. It’s why we can take on complex bite and cosmetic cases that a lot of general dentists refer out.

Same-day CEREC crowns, iTero digital scanning, CBCT 3D imaging, and hygiene lasers in both offices. That means fewer visits for you, and no goopy impressions.

The Millington office is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 7 AM to 4 PM, Wednesday 7 AM to 3 PM, and Friday 7 AM to Noon. The Covington office is open Tuesday and Wednesday 8 AM to 5 PM. We are closed Saturday and Sunday.

Your first visit starts with a comprehensive exam and digital X-rays so we can see what’s going on. From there we’ll talk through what we found and what, if anything, needs doing. If we recommend treatment, you’ll sit down privately with our scheduling coordinator to go over costs and payment options before anything gets scheduled.

Usually, yes. We have CEREC scanners and a milling unit in the office, so we can design and mill your crown while you’re here. No temporary crown, and no coming back to get numbed a second time.
Yes. Most TMJ cases we see respond to conservative treatment such as a custom night guard or splint, a bite adjustment, or occlusal therapy. Both of our dentists are trained in occlusion and TMJ therapy at the Pankey Institute.
